Room Parent – Coordinate homeroom activities and volunteers with your child’s teacher and attend orientation meeting on August 26, 2016 at 9:30AM.

Adventure Fest - Our annual fall festival is our largest fundraising event and is fun for the family!

    Auction – Help in gathering auction items from local businesses, help set up auction tables and close out the auction boards the day of event

    Baskets – Help in putting the class baskets together the weeks leading up to Adventure Fest

    Food – Help coordinate vendors, supplies, menu and/or cook and serve

    Games & Prizes – Help gather supplies needed, organize, set-up and/or assist the chairpersons with misc. tasks associated

    Race – Help the race chairperson set up the course and get water for runners

Art in the Classroom – Coordinate the Art in the Classroom Projects within your child’s class. Mount and hang art for gallery night. Create a special project for gallery night auction. Attend training meeting on August 26, 2016 at 10:30AM.

Grade Specific Events – Each grade level has events that are grade specific and volunteers may be needed to help with planning, set-up, decorating and coordinating additional assistance with the teachers.  (For example 3rd grade Rite of Passage & Krewe of MES Parade)

Website – Maintain and Update the PTA Website to keep parents informed

Newsletter – Provide story leads and/or write stories, take/provide photos, sell sponsor ads, and/or assist with distribution

School Directory – Assist in creating the directory and/or distribution

Publicity/Photography – Help capture lasting memories by taking photos during regular class & school activities which may be published in the newspaper, yearbook or newsletter. Digital camera provided by school if needed

Membership – Manage PTA memberships, distribute membership cards, assist at Grandparents day with membership and compile the PTA membership reports twice per school year

Yearbook – Volunteers are needed at all grade levels to take photos, assist in downloading, submit for yearbook, counting submissions and distribution

Grant Writing – Assist and/or write and find grant opportunities 

Fall Fundraiser – Assist with distributing, collecting and organizing order forms and distribute the orders on pick-up day

Box Tops, Labels for Education & Recycling – Help collect, sort and submit the items to earn funds for MES

Book Fair – Assist the Librarian in planning, setting up and/or working at the book fair (fall and spring)

Boo Hoo/Yahoo Breakfast – Breakfast for Pre-K & Kindergarten parents after dropping off the children on the first day. Available to help with set-up and greeting/welcoming the new parents

Gallery Night – Help organize and set up gallery night in April.

Grandparents’ Day- Planning, assisting the day of with serving refreshments and/or taking pictures

Sock Hop – Help organize and set-up the Sock Hop in January.

Family Dining Nights – Help organize family dinner nights at local restaurants and/or help with sign in and guessing jars

Holiday Gift Shop – Help set-up, organize and decorate the gift shop. Volunteers also needed to work the gift shop.

Cultural Arts Day – Help organize, plan and set-up for Cultural Arts Day in February (We will learn all about Sweden this year!)

Field Day – Day of event volunteers needed to help at each activity and with set-up (March)

PBS Celebrations – Volunteer at the PBS celebrations at the end of each semester.

Safety & Reflections Contests – Assist in gathering student submissions, securing judges, and submitting the final projects to the district.

Staff Appreciation Week – Assist in planning special events to honor our amazing teachers and staff throughout their special week.

Year-Round Staff Hospitality – Assist in planning monthly and holiday treats for our super staff.

Front Office Volunteer – Assist the office staff with greeting and directing visitors, answering phones and other light office duties

Library Volunteer – Assist the librarian by checking out/in books, shelving books, helping students locate books and other duties as needed

Class Sitter – Class sit while the teacher attends meetings or functions 

Hearing/Vision Screening – Assist in walking students to/from the screenings.

Picture Days – Assist teachers and photographers in getting students organized in lined up for fall & spring pictures.
